It was lovely to be able to go back to visit a client where we fitted runners to two flights of stairs and a half landing a couple of weeks ago.
The customer originally came to us having seen a loop-pile Brussels Wilton runner from a different manufacturer, with plans to refurbish their lovely Bath Stone staircase to showcase this new carpet.
When we attended the initial measure it, unfortunately, became clear that the original product selection wouldn’t work with the winders on their stairs, so we set about finding something that we knew we could use to create a simple yet effective runner that the client would still love despite it not being able to have their first choice.
With the same tones and smooth surface similar to their original selection, our client was thrilled to be shown Mainline from Telenzo Carpets in the shade “Bond Street”, and decided on a turned-edge finish for a fuss-free effect that wouldn’t overshadow the newly restored staircase.
Getting a fixing in Bath Stone is a dusty job and can be a bit tricky, so we drilled and plugged the stone using Tappits to ensure the gripper was secure and that the runner was able to be fitted tightly and safely.
The client is delighted with the end result (as are we!) and, by all accounts, their children are thoroughly enjoying the comfort of a carpet on the previously bare stone stairs.
