We’re often asked to assist with properties in Bath where the owner is not local and visits to the shop to look at products trickier to organise. Such was the case recently with this rental flat in Lansdown where the client was based in Devon.
The owners popped into the shop whilst they were in the area to give us an indication of their colour preference, after which we worked with their lettings agent to organise the measure and subsequently offered advise on the kind of range, colour, and underlay most suited to the job based on the assessments made during our visit. One of the areas didn’t have much natural light so we needed to avoid anything too dull, whilst being careful not to suggest anything impractically light or too tricky to clean for any tenants. We also needed to avoid anything too thick to prevent the doors from catching on the new carpets.
We explored a few combinations of carpets and underlay options, eventually deciding on Trident Highlights in colour Morning Mist from Furlong Flooring, a 2-ply polypropylene twist that is both comfortable and easy to care for. We also used our slightly thinner underlay which is British-made and which incorporates memory-foam technology, so as not to add too much thickness whilst not compromising on comfort.
Once the carpet selection was finalised we organised fitting with the lettings agent, before sending the clients photos of the completed work for their approval once finished. As our fitters vacuum after each job the flat was left in perfect condition for new tenants to move in.
